BrightKeyword collects personal data from its users. The user's acceptance of this privacy policy occurs upon the first interaction with the service via the website brightkeyword.com or any of its subdomains.

BrightKeyword's goal is to ensure that the privacy of your company and that of your customers is protected at the highest level when you use the BrightKeyword service for keyword research and analysis.

Data collection

We collect the following data:

  1. Your email address, IP address, and browser information for authentication purposes.
  2. Your email and associated product usage data for product analytics and improving the service.
  3. Your topic names, keyword data, and research history.
  4. Your payment transactions summary (amount and payment method, not the credit card details).
  5. Your company or organization name if you provide it.

Storing your data

BrightKeyword stores your topics, keyword clusters, and keyword metrics in our database:

  1. Topics and Keywords: All topics you create, along with their associated keyword clusters and metrics, are stored persistently in our database. This data is accessible only to you through your account.
  2. Raw LLM Responses: We store the raw responses from OpenAI for keyword generation to enable debugging and service improvement. This data is associated with your account and is not shared with third parties.
  3. Account Data: Your account information, including email address and subscription details, is stored securely in our database.

Important note: During processing, data may be temporarily stored to pass through internal system components (such as queues, message brokers, or temporary buffers).

This approach ensures that your keyword research data remains private and is only accessible to you.

OpenAI

OpenAI is used for generating keyword maps, clusters, and related terms. When you create a topic, we send the topic name to OpenAI's API to generate keyword suggestions and clusters.

The servers are located in the United States.

Paddle

Paddle is used for processing payments.

Your credit card information is not stored, nor logged on our servers. It is all processed by Paddle.

PostgreSQL (Database Hosting)

We use PostgreSQL databases hosted on Hetzner for storing your account data, topics, keywords, and clusters.

The servers are located within the European Union.

Redis

Redis is used for background job processing (Sidekiq) and caching. No persistent personal data is stored in Redis.

Security
